Buffalo Hills Beef is a family operated, third generation family farm, located on the scenic hills and skyline overlooking the eastern shores of beautiful Buffalo Lake near Stettler AB. We raise the majority of our beef animals from birth to finish. On occasion, we purchase feeder animals from local ranchers who share our thoughts, beliefs, and vision regarding our product. These animals are accompanied by herd health records when purchased. We sell privately by the whole or half beef, to customers who truly care about the food that both they and their families consume. We welcome visits to our ranch at any time, and even offer the option for customers to select their own beef animal! We would love to discuss the various characteristics of each animal with our clients to assist in their selection decision.
We are located 15 miles northwest of Stettler, Alberta. Our ranch overlooks Buffalo Lake (Alberta’s 3rd largest fresh water body). The rolling hills of our ranch were once home to a herd of bison which numbered 50,000, based on written historical reports of the first settlers to the area.
The Stettler area is a mixed farming and ranching region of the province, and as a community, Stettler is a bustling town of 6000, offering all services. Our ranch is located 5 minutes from the beautiful PheasantBack Golf Course (we offer golf packages to clients selecting their own beef). Plan to make a weekend or holiday of your visit to our area! Other attractions in the area include, the Tyrell Museum in Drumheller, Old McDonald’s Farm campground, Boss Hill campground, McKenzie Crossing in the stunning Red Deer River valley, Alberta Prairie Steam Train Tours, a variety of golf courses, and several small communities surrounding Stettler, each with their own special history.
